Cotton underfoot, nothing synthetic
Natural Cotton · Earth
A handwoven cotton mat, thick enough for a wooden floor and dense enough to stay put. It is finished with a braided olive strap that doubles as a stretching aid.
Cotton grips best when slightly damp, which is why it has been the practice surface in warm climates for generations.

Care Instructions
These pieces are made to last a lifetime of practice. Follow the guidance below to keep the natural fibres true to colour and drape.
Washing
- —Machine wash cold on its own, gentle cycle
- —Use a mild detergent — residue affects grip
- —Do not use fabric softener, ever — it coats the cotton and ruins traction
Drying
- —Line dry fully before rolling — a damp mat mildews
- —Never tumble dry; heat shrinks and warps the weave
- —A light mist of water before practice restores grip
Storage
- —Roll rather than fold to protect the handwoven selvedge
- —Store unbuckled so the braided strap keeps its shape
